Public Statement on Aug. 11 DHS Activities at KCIC
Dear Customers, Staff, and Stakeholders,
Northgate Aviation has been aware of recent media reports that assert false claims that our business engaged in support of Immigration and Customs Enforcement activities unrelated to our operations. These unfortunate statements are categorically untrue and do not reflect our values, practices, or partnerships.
On August 11th, 2025, federal law enforcement officers received service at our location as part of a law enforcement operation to execute a criminal search warrant not related to immigration outside of Butte County. Contrary to statements made online and in media reports, the officers who visited Chico were members of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection, who clearly were marked as and declared such; they were not members of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Irrespective of the agency the law enforcement agents represent, Northgate Aviation did not provide support for the conduct of any immigration “raids”. Instead, Northgate Aviation simply provided service consistent with its legal and contractual obligations as a service provider at Chico Regional Airport.
We recognize the importance of trust, in that it is built upon transparency, consistency, and respect for the diverse community we serve. Northgate Aviation has been proud to serve the Chico community faithfully and impartially for the past 20 years, and will continue to do so by focusing on what matters most: providing excellent service for everyone in our community.
